Chirality was born from a deep and untapped well of creative ideation discovered by founder and lead guitarist, Ragav Venkatesan. Initially taking the shape of The Ragav Project—, Chirality was an outlet for his introspective musings—Ragav's unique prespectives as an immigrant thriving in a new cultural landscape led to the foundation of a new experimental journey with a rarely encountered blend of musical textures.
The name Chirality is a scientific term referring to the “handedness” or asymmetrical properties of an object's mirror image. The music of Chirality embodies this concept through its east-meets-west fusion of musical philosophies. This unconventional blend creates a powerful gravitational pull, drawing in a diverse audience from various musical backgrounds—ranging from an untapped community of immigrant metalheads raised on Motherjane and Avial to a rising wave of local Seattle listeners shaped by Alice in Chains and Porcupine Tree.

Keg of Glory is a song valorizing Joshua Lyman from the legendary American TV show, "The West Wing". It is also about the characteristics of Joshua Lyman such as loyalty, sincerity and leadership. It is in honor of that person in our lives who has always been there pushing up onward and upward.
Let Go is a FCC friendly song about a war. Written during a time of unprecedented global calamities, let go is the plea of an injured father urging his daughter with increasing desperation to leave him behind in the warzone and find a future for herself. The song vocalizes real images of war that were depicted in news media during the year from various locations and touches upon the unfairness of the destruction on innocent populations that are simply trying to get by. For a song that is part of a prog-rock EP, let go is a simple and approachable 4/4 rhythm with a simple harmonic structure, emphasizing emotion through its orchestration, arrangement and lyrics.
Varsha Srikeshava and I were jamming one day and suddenly got inspired to do a Carnatic fusion. Almost a year of hard work later we finished this song. But that was in 2019. After another four years later, I'm finally able to fine-tune this song to my liking and release it with my solo EP.
Shambo is a Thandavam. A Thandavam is a type of song that has intricate rhythm and is usually written to dance to. Shambo is a Shiva thandavam and is written for Shiva the destroyer to dance to. This song is special for me. This is the first song I wrote as part of 'Ragav' my solo project. This is also the only song in the EP that was not sung by me.
